Confirmation Preparation 2025-2026

 Congratulations! Welcome to your Confirmation year!
Please read through the information carefully before registering your child.

Registration will be available online through the Parish website from Friday, September 19, 2025, to Tuesday, October 21, 2025. The paperwork required will not be accepted through the office. All registrations will be completed through a scheduled Meet and Greet. Please book your family’s Meet and Greet through the Parish website. We encourage the entire family to attend the Meet and Greet; however, the Confirmation Candidate and both parents are required to be present.

IMPORTANT DATES TO REMEMBER:

Saturday, November 15, 2025, and Sunday, November 16, 2025. Candidates will receive their confirmation crosses.

Saturday, April 18, 2026 – Confirmation Retreat and Rehearsal

Saturday, April 25, 2026 – Confirmation Ceremony

Baptism, the Eucharist, and the sacrament of Confirmation together constitute the sacraments of Christian initiation… the reception of the sacrament of Confirmation is necessary for the completion of baptismal grace (CCC 1285). 

Sacrament of Initiation: It is one of the three sacraments of Initiation along with Baptism and Eucharist.
Completion of Baptism:  Confirmation builds upon the graces received in Baptism, completing Christion Initiation and bringing about a deeper commitment to Christ and the Church.
Receiving the Holy Spirit:  It is considered the sacrament of the Holy Spirit, in which the individual is strengthened and sealed with the gifts of the Spirit.

Who Can Receive Confirmation?

• The Candidate must be baptized in the Catholic Church, or another Christian denomination recognized by the Catholic Church, they must have been baptized with water and “In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.”
• Have received the Sacrament of Reconciliation and First Holy Communion.

 Confirmation Sponsor

A Sponsor for Confirmation is a role model of the Faith for the candidate. The sponsor has her/himself received all three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation) and is living in harmony with Roman Catholic Faith. The sponsor supports the candidate being confirmed in her/his commitment to a Christian life. 

• Sponsor Requirements (Taken from the  1983 Code of Canon Law 87)
• Is at least 16 years of age.
• Is practicing Catholic.
• Has received the Sacraments of Baptism, First Communion and Confirmation
• Leads a life in harmony with the Roman Catholic faith
• Is not a parent of the candidate; and
• Sponsor is required to provide a copy of Sponsor's Annotated Baptism certificate (including Confirmation Date - this may be obtained from the Parish where they were baptized) or a copy of their Confirmation certificate. 

Registration Process

• Registration is open FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 19 through the Parish website. Don’t forget to Book your Meet & Greet spot. 
• We require a copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate, The Parental Consent Form and the $100 program fee. Please ensure you bring this to your family’s Meet and Greet. If your child was baptized at St. Christopher, we will still need a copy of their baptismal certificate.
• Meet & Greet - A meeting to discuss program expectations of the family and candidate, discuss any concerns and collect required documents. After this meeting registration will be considered complete.

Prior to filling out the registration form, please ensure you have:

1. Your child’s certificates for Baptism and First Holy Communion
2. Read each question thoroughly.
3. Book your family’s Meet and Greet spot.

Checklist for Meet and Greet.

Prior to meeting with Levy Anne, please ensure you have:

1. A copy of your child’s Baptism certificate.
2. A printed and signed the Parental Consent Form.
3. $100 program fee, cash or cheque accepted. Please make cheque out to St. Christopher Parish.

Preparation Components

1. CHURCH & COMMUNITY - Attending Mass every weekend. Writing Mass reflections and 10 hours of community Service.
2. HOME - Complete the Assigned work: Watching videos, answering reflection questions and completing projects.
3. CLASS - Participate in class activities, discussions and meet other Candidates from other schools.
